This policy explains what information Global Connect Show (“GCS”, “we”) collects on www.globalconnect.show, why, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at pr@globalconnect.show.
Press network registration
When you fill in the “Get Updates on Our Events” form on our News Centre (or the subscribe form at the bottom of each page), we collect your first and last name, email address, company or organisation, location, the option that best describes you (for example media, content creator or investor) and the details you add for it (such as your job title, the markets you cover or a link to your channel), together with the country your request came from. We use these details to verify media attendees, to understand who our audience is, to invite you to our events and to send you updates about GCS. Your details are stored by our website host (Cloudflare) and in a Google Sheet used by our team, and a copy is emailed to our press team. We keep them for as long as they are useful for our press relations, and we delete them when you ask us to.
Email updates
Submitting the “Get Updates on Our Events” form also signs you up for our email updates: new stories from our News Centre and news about upcoming GCS events. We send these emails with Brevo, an email service based in France, which stores your name, email address and country for this purpose, and tells us whether our emails were delivered, opened or clicked so we can improve them. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to stop by emailing pr@globalconnect.show.
Event registration, tickets and partner agreements
When you register for a GCS event or buy a ticket on this site, we collect your name, email address, the ticket you chose, your answers to the event’s questions (such as your company and job title) and the country your request came from. We use them to manage your place, to confirm media registrations, to send you information about the event and to keep our records. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Registering for an event does not sign you up for our email updates.
When a company books a partner package, we collect the company and contact details entered in the form. When the partnership agreement is signed online, we keep the signed text, the signer’s name, job title and signature, and the time, IP address and browser used to sign, as a record of the agreement. This information is stored by our website host (Cloudflare). We keep registration, payment and agreement records for as long as we need them for the event and for our accounting and legal obligations.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site, for example which pages are read and how people find us. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser, your approximate location and the site that referred you. If you are in Europe or the United Kingdom, we only load Google Analytics after you accept analytics cookies. Everyone can change their choice at any time:
Post views
We count how many times each news post is opened, for our own reporting; the numbers are not shown on the site. To keep the count honest, we process your IP address in a hashed form that changes every day, so it cannot be read back. Your browser remembers in its session storage that you opened a post, so a refresh is not counted twice. No cookies are used for this.
Videos
Videos on our Events page come from YouTube and load only when you press play. They use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode; once a video is playing, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete them, or ask us to stop contacting you, by emailing pr@globalconnect.show. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
